Chemical EOR: Nanoparticles

1. Whether, attachment of polymers covalently to the nanoparticle surface has always improved

the dispersibility of nanoparticles,

during an EOR application

associated with an oil reservoir?

2. Whether polymer-coated nanoparticles

as against bare nanoparticles

always have an advantage

that they could irreversibly adsorb

to an oil-brine interface,

forming very stable foams and emulsions?

3. Why is that single-chain surfactants, rather than double-chain surfactants are expected to perform better

for foam formation,

upon mixing with nanoparticles?

Do we really have

a significant residence time

that would lead to

the formation of

double layer adsorption?
