above is the rssi simplified formula i found in most forums and paper.
η = path loss exponent
d = the distance between node
A = received signal strength in dBm at 1 metre
Does the value of η and A depends on the device you used and provided in the device spreadsheets?
Pr = [Pt] + [Gt] + [Gr] + 20log10 [Lamda / (4*3.14*do)] + (10*n*log10 (do/d))
Pr = Received power
Pt = Transmit Power
Gt = Transmit antenna gain
Gr = Receive antenna gain
Lambda = Wavelength
The value of η depends one the environment and would vary as
Free space - 2
Urban - 2.7 to 3.5
With obstructions - 4 to 6

A is deafult received signal for example for 802.11a/n is 14dbm
