Normally we are using KBr pellet or nujol paste for FT-IR analysis of solid samples. Two strong peaks are appearing for Nujol paste around 1400-2000 cm-1. Where will we get peaks for KBr pellet? It is necessary to understand the FT-IR spectra and to realize the latter betterness.
I guess that there is no peaks for KBr or it may be lower to 400 cm-1.
You will not get any IR absorbance peaks for KBr for sure(Absorption Coefficient : 3 x 10-6 @ 1064nm : 14 x 10-6 cm-1 @ 10.6 (7)). But, KBr absorbs moisture from the atmosphere and will some fundamental transitions at 1650 CM-1. Change the KBr or heat it in the oven and use again. Probably it works. Another precaution I suggest you is keep IR source on always to avoid the unwanted peaks.
Potassium Bromide pellets are transparent in between 4000 to 400 cm-1 , as in no absorption will occur in this range
