I am long-time experimental physicist and I thought always like you say. This is not only the case of Newton, but also General Relativity and even Pitagoras theorem, which was needed to constructs Egyptian pyramids. But on the other hand, non-Euclidian geometry was ready before Einstein and Leibniz also contributed to differential calculus, not being a physicist.

As experimental physicists I say that now we accumulated quite a lot of non-knowledge - not only dark matter but also superconductors, masses of quarks and so on.

I will send you later a lecture that I had in this problem.

You are actually asking: When are we possibly going to discover some new kind of mathematics to explain certain physical facts? I am not a physicist. But I have always been trying to say that physical significance should precede mathematics. To solve those problems of physics, the physicists themselves would have to discover new kinds of mathematics, like Sir Issac did to explain the physics of falling bodies.

I worked lengthy, searching Plato's Timaeus " Most Beautiful Triangle" and derived a an interpretation of mine , differenet to that of current translations. The triangle [ scalene orthogonal] is a harmonic one, it is similar to the Kepler[ Magirus] but not the same.

All sides of this triangle are in a geometric ratio and each side to the next is the ratio of the squre root of the Golden Ratio [ 1.27201965..]. One of the two non 90 deg angles is not 60 deg [ as current translations give] but arctan[ square root of the Golden Ratio] , equal to 51.82729238...

The specialty of this triangle is that : Product of the small horizontal side by Hypotenuse is equal to the square of the its bigger vertical side. This makes it a very special triangle[ quadrature triangle], actually a unique one.

New mathematics are expected in treating Biology, living systems, computer science etc. We have already a lot of such specimens. Classical mathematics are not sufficient in treating these problems.

Dear Grzegorz P. Karwasz, as I think this type of problems can not be handled by using crispy way of Mathematics we have to go for imprecise Mathematics.

For example, difference between two mango trees is not random in the statistical sense. We can however recognize that a mango tree is a mango tree after all. What is the mathematics behind it? 

I am not asking about pattern recognition. I am not asking also about the biological process that helps the brain to recognize any particular object. I am asking about the  mathematical explanation of the difference between two living things of the same species.   

Up to 20th century, mathematics was essentially the mathematics of nature. In 21st century mathematics, we  will see that the pure mathematics of 20th century will be the applied mathematics of the 21st century. Furthermore mathematics will focus not in nature but in humans and androids.
