You might try out inn.colorado.edu. The Inter-nomological Network (INN) is as far as we know the largest repository of constructs and their measurement items in the world.
A good qualitative study that I like is "bad boys: Public Schools in the Making of Black Masculinity" by Ann Arnett Ferguson. Although the focus is not on successful outcomes, the study identifies important social processes that take place within U.S. k-12 public schools that affect academic outcomes.
