Have you ever had issues in the reliability and efficiency of your intraperitoneal injection in mouse or rats? If yes you may probably as we did before in the lab (I'm sure we are not the only ones...), inject on the wrong part of the mouse. Indeed, Annaïg Hamon a former PhD student of the lab recently informed me about an extremely important point. When you hold the mouse (or the rat) belly facing up, instead of injecting in the lower left quadrant of the mouse, just inject in the lower right quadrant. You can have more informations about the perfect intraperitoneal injection in the following doc from the university of British Columbia: https://animalcare.ubc.ca/sites/default/files/documents/TECH%2010%20IP%20Injections%20in%20the%20Mouse%20and%20Rat.pdf

Since then, my 12 month-old mice have no more difficulties to sleep upon ketamine/xylasine injection...

It was so simple! If only I could have known that 5 years ago!!!!
