Years ago (in the 90s I believe) I read a study focused on the perception of language that found male-gender terms (man) used to represent a broader demographic (people) are still perceived as referencing only the male gender. Now that I'm looking for it I can't seem to find it - does anyone here happen to know the study I'm talking about and where I can find it? I'm also happy to have references to other, more current data. Thanks!
