Some researchers are interested in a journal to publish part of his results, Others are looking first to the publishing house like Elsevier, Springier, Taylor and Franks and others. Which approach yo follow and why?
Zakaria - I'm interested in the outcome that I hope for. I target journals according to rank and scope. Elsevier is one of the largest publishing houses - so it's likely to be a contender. I don't submit to it though - just because it is Elsevier.
I will choose journal based on their repute in terms of publication time, circulation audience size, IF, indexing and citation.

I will choose mostly the reputed publishers like you mentioned Elsevier, Springer, Taylor and Francis. but not all journals in the mentioned publishers. I used to focus on H-index of the journals, impact factor and scope to my research.
