DSS is quite expensive, so instead of discarding the amount leftover in the mouse water bottle every other day, cant we prepare a large amount, filter sterilize it and leave it in the cage for say an entire week? I understand that once it becomes turbid I will change it, but in case its fine is it ok to use it for 5-7 days at a stretch?
