Dear all,

I am conducting a study on community composition and stable isotope signatures of arthropods. I use PERMANOVA+ for PRIMER v.6. In several tests I use two random factors. One related to experimental design (random factor related to block design), and other related to species identity. I would like to know:

-Whether is correct to omit the random factor if it is not significant.

-The presence of two random factor (plus one fixed factor) generates interactions. Is it correct to omit these interactions and to work only with the main effects model?

Thank you so much.
