We have an accepted paper in a journal. the journal publishes once each four months. Now, we are in 2021, and the issue of December 2020 has not been published yet. Have you experienced a similar happening?
Some journals are ahead of the indicated month of publication, others have delays rather often or even regularly. Many journals do not have its own staff, but scientists from an institute do the editorial work as additional duties. I recommend to wait for a while.
I can share my experience. I was asked to be the associate editor of a journal in June 2017. The publication date was to be June. Finally after working very hard, we managed to publish the issue about 3 months late. There were many problems to iron out. All that took time.
If you intend to give a paper to a journal you never worked with or you did not become across before you should ask your libraian about the reputation of the journal.
Since a couple of years more and more journals came into being which have only one aim: earning money taken from the authors.
I am getting each week one or two mails from journals I never heard of before with the question to send them a paper or even to become a member of their editorial board. Most of them have no respectable scientific background.
