Using smartphones for learning is often advocated because learning can take place at any time and place, but do students really use their smartphones this way for learning? Some studies say that students are more likely to set aside a certain time and place for learning, even if it is via a smartphone application.

Many schools have enacted a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program; whereby students can interact with the course instructor using certain apps that align with the curriculum being taught in class. A good example of this is the iClicker, which allows for students to answer checks on learning using their own device, allowing the instructor to instantly compile the data and determine whether all the students are catching on and which ones are not. This also allows for more interactivity in class and individual student engagement, giving closer meaning to what is being taught to the student. When I was an instructor I actually had my students do just this and it turned out to be very successful.
Mobile devices such as personal digital assistants, and mobile phones have become a learning tool with great potential in both classrooms and outdoor learning. A new modern instrument like augmented reality creates an education process more informative and iteresting. We create moving 3D objects and it helps to understand difficalt things in the easy way.
