I compiled a picture naming experiment script in E-prime (version: 2.0.10.356) by using Slide SoundIn sub-object to record the audio responses of participants. Meanwhile, I included the Chronos to record the vocal onset RT. I also want to use the audio files to verify the vocal RTs recorded by Chronos. The slide duration (for the picture presentation) is set to 3000ms at maximum, followed by 1500ms ISI (by a blank TextDisplay object). I also set the property of my SoundIn subobject as follows:

buffer size: 5000ms;

StopAfter: No

StopAftermode: NextOnsetTime

EndCaptureAction: None

The audio recording was successful. However, I am concerned about the timing of the audio recording by E-prime. I wondered when the recording of audio files started and stopped. Based on my understanding, the audio recording should start with the onset of the slide containing the SoundIn sub-object. But what about the stop time? Based on the property setting, I set the audio recording to stop until the onset of the next object. But I am confusing about this. So does this mean that the audio recording stopped until the onset of the following ISI Textblank display object? Or the audio recording stopped until the onset of the pre-release of the next procedure loop?
