I'm trying to build a Bayesian model for a coastal dune stratigraphy. The oldest date is taken from marine beach barrier sediments, while the other, more recent, dates are taken from gyttja layers (associated with archaeological remains) embedded within dune sediments

As far as I know, in recent 14C-dates, the BP date is usually corrected for the reservoir effect that occurs in marine shells. So you should be careful not to add a double correction!
Since the reservoir effect is area-dependant, it might be worth considering to retreive an uncorrected BP date and use Marine13 to compensate for the reservoir effect.

the choice for the calibration is based on environmental considerations. If you believe that your shells lived in a marine environment you can use Marine 13. But beach barrier could be a more complex environment so if the shells lived in a lagoon you can take into consideration the possibility of a different calibration.

Thanks! As the original date had not been corrected for fractionation (which leads up to ca 400 years), it therefore has no resevoir effect (also ca 400 years in the North Sea) either, and can be used with INTCAL13, as Prof. Dr. J. van der Plicht told me just moments ago :)

Yes, you should use Marine13 and apply the appropriate local/regional deltaR value (see 14CHRONO Marine Reservoir Database at http://calib.qub.ac.uk/marine/). Although the species appears to be a suspension-feeder, I note that it is densest in in-shore zones (http://www.reservebaiedesaintbrieuc.com/IMG/pdf/publication/etudes_scientifiques/Ponsero&al-2009-Cockle.pdf) so may be influences by terrestrial run-off or restricted in-shore/embayment circulation patterns.
