I am working on the unsaturated flow in the Chalk unsaturated zone, both matrix and fracture flow, mainly baypass flow which may cause pollutant transport to the groundwater. I think, the situration may change from one type of rock to other, as the suction is diffrent.

I think that the project covers the mechanism of flow within vadose zone and the role of pollutants behavior
when we say mechanism it mean how the process takes place, in other word, how water pass through the unsaturated rock physically, this will link to pollutant fate, which I think is vary according to type of rock, for example, fracture Sandstone behave differently than fractured Chalk or even Limestone.
well, all mechanisms which including hydraulic and hydrogeochemical processes,like adsorption, ion exchange and so on,(water- sediment interrelationship).
