If we put restraint in resource exploitation/use and consumerism from personal to industrial level and local to global scale we will be able to shrink our ecological footprint and can be able to manage natural resource crunch and pollution problem and would be able to live sustainably. Let's take a pledge to tread lightly on the Earth and mother Nature.

No this is not the debate on "One size fits all". Be it nature or any biological/living system, need and sufficiency are the the norms which are finite in nature but greed and demand which are not natural but may be nurtured by human beings are infinite.
Further we are not talking about the fixed size but size should not vary like the Vatican city and the India (geographically) or Bangladesh and US or Luxemburg (on account of ecological footprint). Simplicity, sufficiency and efficiency are the sophisticated hallmarks of nature that we should adopt and implement in all walks of our life - both the biological and industrial spheres.
