Many Young Africans who are very interested in Nuclear Science and Engineering and graduates in this field are faced with a lot of challenges, furthering their studies especially in PhD and PostDoc and most importantly getting job opportunities, it is becoming more and more difficult with no support, encouragement and help especially from the government. I just keep wondering where we see nuclear Science and Engineering in Africa in the next decade.

I think the utilization of nuclear science in peaceful applications is indispensable. Therefore building experts in this branch of science and technology is necessary for any society. The weapon applications must be forbidden and prevented from spreading.
As for the nuclear power reactors for electricity generation i believe that now there will be a very competing technology. It is the photo voltaic electricity generators
They become economically feasible and they will be even less expensive in the very near future. One now builds Gigawatt PV staions. PV is very safe and environment friendly compared to to both classical fuel and nuclear.
I think we as African countries must choose wisely for our development and we must not go same way of the developed countries.
