I'm working on microwave imaging systems for breast cancer detection. As I am new in this field, I want to know about the most important measures or variables that can assist to find out quality of imaging system (especially Radar) in terms of accuracy, resolution, performance, etc.

The primary figure of merit is referred to as the physical sensitivity of a medical imaging setup. The method of obtaining the SNRI and the physical sensitivity needs rigorous statistical analysis of the system of interest. Microwave imaging systems have not yet been used in wide clinical practice, and to my knowledge, there are no rigorous or common means to quantify their performance in terms of physical sensitivity
