It's a known fact that the heart contains endogenous cardiac stem cells and they act by paracrine factors. When myocardial tissues are damage by any cause (like hypoxia, ischemia or infarction etc.), why cant endogenous CSCs repair the damage before the condition gets worse? Is there any time lapse between the myocardial tissue degeneration and eCSCs activaton by paracrine factors?
