By disconnections do you mean presence of voids? If you could measure the size of disconnections in what range it falls? Misfit dislocations are parallel to interface. Moreover under certain conditions, misfit dislocations can convert to treading dislocations along the growth direction. Now in materials like SiC, threading dislocations with super burger vector create micropipes.

So in order to find exact answer to your question please define and measure the disconnections or share SEM image of the same.

Thanks for your answers! The disconnection comprises both step character and dislocation character (see attachments). I did found some disconnections on precipitate/matrix interfaces in the nucleation process, which usually has the misfit dislocaitons to relief the strain. I am confused why the disconnections replaced the misfit dislocations?
