What's the best way to stain whole blood with CD4 antibody conjugated with fluorochrome (PE, FITC)?

I am staining whole blood with CD4 FITC/CD4PE antibody. However, after trying so many buffer conditions I cannot able to see the fluorescence of FITC/PE.

I am using a fluorescence microscope for checking FITC/PE.
