We do and avoid certain things to maintain physical fitness including healthy diet habits, sports and exercise, meditation as stated above by Kamal, Patrick and Parth. But when we consider general health it encompasses other domains s/a psychological and social well being. Exercises, a goodwill, good friends, proper sleep wake cycle are all necessary for a general health.
But if i had to give a comment on what i do, i would say i do nothing. But better late than never. I take all the suggestions and would start at the earliest. Thanks for the motivating question.
Dear Ratan, I agree with @Kamal. Healthy food and sport is essentiall in the same measure as taking care of own clear and nice thoughts. These influence physical health too.
with personal experince I would recommend to start the day with meditation followed by mild stretches and mild to moderate exercise like walking, jogging etc and try out YOGA followed by attracting positive thoughts throughout the day with minor changes in your diet habits.I think this would help.

I am very suprised to see the first answer not being posted!
This is strange in a forum like this.
I do know a number of people with not-so good health situations (in wheelchair with RA, adult spastic diplegia) that feel really healthy and are healthy in their own minds.
It depends on your own situation and who you compare it with.
Health in body and mind is our goal, but how do we all achieve this?
It will be dependent on culture, genes, social status, where you live and will also depend on your own frame of mine.
I have generally tried to participate in some kind of sport and since the computer - sitting more than before - I try to walk around more.
As this is not always possible I have found a good solution for working at home.
If possible I will stop academic work to do some chore and then get back to 'work'. I have found the silliest of chores enhance thinking, making this a a win-win situation for me. Chores get done and the 'brain work' as well :)
It seems everyone is well aware how to maintain a good health. But there is always some excuse which is not allowing to actually maintain the health. Is it our weakness or negligent...?
I would like to remain active with healthy eating habits. Do regular exercise daily (however during winter season with snow and subzero temperatures outdoor becomes very difficult) to keep health in good shape.
There is also a question of economy when it comes to having healthy habits. To be able to have money enough to be able to buy good food, to have education enough to know what is good food and to have enough spare time from work and daily chores to be able to hvae time and energy to exercise.
