I wanted to begin a molecular biology analysis, so, I e-mailed the macrogen (Korean Branch) for 454 pyrosequencing cost. They replied to me as below, could someone kindly explain their e-mail?
"The price of pyrosequencing is approximately 3500$ / 1/8 region.
And, if you send the genomic DNA for each samples, you also pay the library construction price (50$ / 1 sample).
If you run the 1/8 region, you probably get about 100,000 sequences.
Also, these sequence amount will divided by number of samples, than you can easily estimate how many sequences will retrieved in one sample."

Which region of 16S rRNA will you target?
If you have 10 samples, then the average reads number for each sample would be 10,000, which i think is overly enough for analysis of bacterial diversity in waste water.
Normally the cost for 1/2 region (1/2 run) is around $9,000-10,000.
