I am currently in Germany and would like to found a startup company to continue my pioniering work in the field of cancer research/immunology with nanotech-based measurements, i.e. AFM (atomic force microscopy). My work was overtaken by others, after two members of the German academy of science understood my independent (and unpaid) pionierung work on my very own project. Now, I may need seed money and a lab environment suitable for simple cell culture and some AFM, but a critical mass in cancer research or hospital would be advantageous. I thought Stanford area would be best, but perhaps Santa Barbara (AFM?) or San Diego area could also be a good alternative. Any PROs and CONs for any location between Stanford/Palo Alto or San Diego?
