I am a researcher in acoustic field, therefore i have three questions about car engine behavior what will happen for the other three cylinders if the fourth cylinder had a misfire.
1- Does the the controller of the modern car will accelerate the number of the spark in the other three cylinder or not?
2-Does the fuel will continue flow in the fourth chamber, that have a misfire, or may be the controller stop that or not?
3- In chamber that has a misfire does the pressure of this chamber will cause some of explosions in this chamber or not ?

In diesel engine the crankshaft will be seriously damaged because the mass balance on the crankshaft has been disrupted if the fourth cylinder had a misfire .
The crankshaft will bend in the middle

According to signal processing that was conducted to the sound of the engine, after comparison was done between the signal of normal case and misfire case signal, there is something was increased the frequency of it. Can you tell me what you expect is this part (that was accelerated)? As you see in the attached file

As we know that the modern engines are mainly controlled by electronic systems, if in case there occurs an misfire, then the control unit immediately will analyse the reason behind that and will control any further damage being caused to the system..
