if we immersed a spherical object in the quasi - neutral plasma then its gets negative potential to balance the total current zero and a space charge sheath will form around it and field lines will terminate at the sheath edge, originated at the surface of the object. now, if we put this spherical object in the sheath region of a plane electrode. the debye length of object is less than the sheath thickness of planar electrode. in the sheath region, ions are drifting and electrons having the non - equilibrium distributions. so how to understand the sheath profile because in this case, filed lines are not terminating. what will be the field profile and field strength around that object? so please give your opinion.
In sufficient information. Is the spherical object a conductor? Is it electrically connected to the boundary or is it floating? Is the size of the object large compared to the Debye length?

First thoughts, the object will assume the local potential in the Debye sheath. Generally, there is a sheath at the wall that is forces the wall potential transition to the plasma potential. The difference in potential is driven by the electron/ion temperatures and mass ratios. The wall Debye sheath has an electric field that accelerates the ions to the wall to balance electron losses. A dielectric object near the wall will locally assume the potential of the sheath at that exact location. Thus, the object will have a varied potential (surface charge) at different locations on the object.
