In a town there are 2 hospitals, 6 patients have gone to the town for treatment. Find the probability that the 6 patients visit same hospital.
This is i guess a With replacement technique so will the sample points be 26 = 64 or 62 = 36??
If we let hospitals as H1 and H2, and patients A B C D E F , how can I make the sample space? its quite easy but just a little confusion in making sample points and then the given probability

This could be considered as a simple binomial distribution. If choosing each hospital has the same probability (1/2), then the probability that all patients would visit hospital H1 is (1/2)^6.
Thus, the probability of choosing the same hospital is: P(H1) + P(H2) since they are disjoint.
Therefore, the answer is 2 x (1/2)^6

The question cannot be answered because we don't know a) the probability of any one person visiting each hospital, b) whether this probability varies between people and c) why you are using researchgate to do a very badly-written homework problem.

@Hamna. Of course, everyone can always ask any question, and everyone is free not to answer all question. Your question is such that I wouldn'd answer it due to ununderstandable missunderstanding of the difference between the spaces
OMEGA1 consisting of two-position sequences with values in the lettewrs ABCDEF
and
OMEGA2 consisting of the six-position sequences with values in the symbols H1 H2
But the above discussion shows that sometimes a voice explaining the trivial facts might be helpful for the RGaters:)
Thus, ad rem:
Elements of OMEGA1 are functions assigning a patient to a hospital (comp. the definition of a sequence (=variation with possible repetitions) from a book on combinatorics). Thus an elementary events (= a sample) like (B,E), or (D,D) etc.encode the situation that the patients of H1 and H2 were persons B and E, respectively, or the patient D and D, respectively. Hopefully this explains you why some of the anwers were that much impolite; impolite to such a degree, that your reaction has been such too.
