Use n-hexane, ethyl acetate, methanol, and methanol/ water 70:30.
to prevent losing plant components ( low boiling point compounds) try to use cold extract ( maceration ).
for example: 200 g of dry plant ( separate parts) in 1000 ml n- hexane which immersed in an ultrasonic bath for 15 min. and then left at r.t. for 3 hr. under continuous stirring . decant the solvent .This process is repeated 3 times. the combined extracts is removed in a rotary evaporator...same procedure for other solvents.... don't forget TLC then separate using different Chromatographic methods ( flash chrom. is best).
