Gap in place of tissue during cryosectioning?

I have faced this problem with different types of tissues whenever i immerse them in formaldehyde and then embed them in OCT (I always pat them dry before embedding). When I section them, I get slices of OCT but without the tissue - that region is hollow. Has anyone else experienced this problem and managed to solve it?
