It is a basic question, but important for me.
As I am going to complete my PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad, India in 2017. I also have good number of publications in reputed journals. Now, I am interested to do the postdoc/research associate job in Computer vision, Image/video processing. My question is:
What is more preferred: (1) Experience of postdoc with publications in reputed journals (2) post PhD teaching (academic) experience.

If you are a young person and want to become a faculty in Government institutions or pursue research career, it is better to do Post Doc.
If you want to join in a private institute or Deemed University, it is better to join as early as possible so that teaching experience will not be lost to qualify for next promotion.
If this "good engineering institute" is what would make you happy, i.e., "your dream job", then go for it, as you might not get a 2nd chance. However, if you think you could do better, then go for the post doc and build your resume for a better option a couple of years down the line. However, make sure you have several publications towards the end of your post doc and submit them as soon as you start your teaching career. They should undergo revision during your first two year in the worst case scenario. These will then count towards your tenure. It's good to do this because the first couple of years teaching will take a lot of time preparing course material, unless you negotiate release time during the first two years.

In my opinion doing Postdoc for initial 3-4 years after PhD is better than faculty job. There are following reasons for it:
1) We can publish good number of papers in reputed journals and those will help in career growth. However, at the faculty position it will be difficult to publish (due to work load, lack of good research environment).
2) We can get good amount of fellowship as comparison to the salary of faculty in India. However, I know fellowship is competitive, but we should take risk in life.
Therefore, in summary Postdoc is better than faculty job in terms of both quality work as well as finance.

I agree with Stefan, the postdoc years will likely be your most enjoyable years after Ph.D. I certainly enjoyed my postdoc period, it was the ideal job for me.
A two years (at least) Post Doc position will support you in learning advance research as well as engaged in teaching (at least two courses) in best of universities, to hone your skills in research, publications, and teaching together.
Agreed with option of Postdoc as will help to advance your research skills along with publications support.
