In my opinion, there would be another 'Green revolution' (as stated by M.A. Attia above) whereby this time focusing on the use of technological advancements such as A.I and IoT. Not to mention the interesting advancement of nanotechnology now seem to leave no field untouched including agriculture. So i believe that with the spotlight agriculture is gaining in the tech world, the next advancement in agriculture by 2050 would come from using all these technological innovations to achieve that goal of ensuring global food security, which is in-line with the era we are in right now - 4th industrial revolution.

As most world economies transition from industrial into knowledge economies we expect more innovations in agriculture. The innovations are more likely to target food production under controlled environments to circumvent the adverse effects of climate change and land scarcity.

I think agriculture is already going to 4th agricultural revolution like precision agriculture, AI, IoTs, agrirobots, etc. and will go furthermore in 2050.

Same rate of production of Agricultural Products will not be enough to fulfill the requirements of highly increasing population. We have to increase the Agricultural Productions rate.

This may depend on leadership vision in a particular country with regard to agriculture development in the country......
