Both polyclonal or monoclonal antibodies you can use for western blot either mouse or human(origin mouse or rabbit ) some Goat polyclonal antibody also use the westerblot. some antibody detect both in immunoblot. Source of this antibody available in Cell signaling , Abcam and Santacruz Biotech company
It entirely depends upon the kind of experiment you are planning to use it for. Therefore, intitially you can screen the antibodies according to their usage in various techniques. Moreover, the antibodies must be selectable not only for the experiments you are performing in moment, but also for those that you might do in the near future. Secondly, Polyclonal antibodies are cheaper in the market than monoclonal antibodies. therefore if you are using a polyclonal antibody you can also save some of the research fund for more experiments in the future. Lastly, as per the companies related to the antibodies are concerned, i have a suggestion, i am currently using the p65 antibody for nfkappab from santa-cruz and the antibody works only on the highest prescribed concentration. ie. 1:200. Therefore if you would choose any other firm for your antibody, you might make a better choice. all the best :)
