What type of statistical analysis in SPSS can be used to see the relationship (correlation and/or regression or any else) between four quantitative variables (independent variables) and one categorical variable with four categories (dependent variable)?
Because your dependent variable is categorical with more than two levels, you can use multinomial logistic regression.
Depending on the software, it may not be too difficult to perform.
Or you could simplify the analysis.
Depending on the relationship between the categories in your dependent variable you could use a multinomial logistic regression (as Salvatore suggests) if the categories are unordered, or an ordered logistic regression if they have an inherent order (e.g. ranking). You can run both of these in SPSS. Andy Field's book, Discovering Statistics using SPSS, would be a good place to start if you wanted to find out more about these models.
