After measuring an oxide with a Raman spectroscope, I got data that generally look like in the file attached (but with large zoom I can see some tiny peaks):
When I subtract a straight line, I got a parabola, which also make it hard to find, describe and interpret peaks.
But when I subtract a non-linear curve that is fitted to the general shape of my data, I receive a nice graph that is generally flat, with distinct peaks visible. But is it a valid method?
