When I import an STL (Catia) file to Abaqus, I get this message: '' partitioning and quad / hex meshing using the medial axis algorithm may fail on impercise parts '' what this message means.
Dear Dr. Salah, For this purpose it is better to use 3-Matic software.
If you don't have it, just send the STL file to me, I will do it for you and send back your suitable Abaqus file.
It does not look like an STL file, in my point of view, it is an IGES or a STEP file.
for importing STL files, generally, the 3DMesh_to_Geometry_Plugin is used.
the plug-in has been attached and it Is compatible with Abaqus 2016.

These kinds of errors are routine whenever we have a purpose to import other geometries into ABAQUS. The point is by imposing any kind of partitions or generating some specific kind of elements, the geometry would lose its precise configuration.
