Hi Ferran, I use Situated Learning Theory in the Bachelor of Midwifery curriculum which I wrote. Here is an extract
A situated learning perspective is based on the belief that skill development and knowledge is contextually situated and is fundamentally influenced by the activity and the culture in which it is used . Learning and skill development is advanced through collaborative interaction with others in both structured and unstructured activities. Relevant key attributes of situated learning integrated into the curriculum are; 1) encouragement of student reflection on experience; 2) scaffolding, including apprenticeship and coaching e.g. the detailed rubric and the self-paced lessons; 3) interactivity, which means designing learning activities where students are interactive with others; 4) the engagement of multiple senses and emotions to enhance the learning process; and, 5) multiple opportunities for practice over time, particularly for practical and complex skills.

Many thanks Kathleen. I agree that Situated Learning Theory consistently supports the ‘pedagogical’ dimension of a Bachelors’ curriculum. In my opinion, a Bachelors' program is a multifaceted system with two dimensions interwoven with the ‘pedagogical’ one: ‘profession-discipline’ and ‘management’. Besides its own logic, each of these dimensions have complex interactions between them.
From my professional experience, the mechanics of this interaction are critical for designing and developing a Bachelors’ curriculum. I’m searching for a theory that considers the bachelors’ curriculum from this multidisciplinary perspective.
