What the interaction type of partitioned part with the original part?

Hi, everyone,

In my case, I partitioned some parts then assign them to different materials, ig., the reinforced particles in the matrix. I was wondering what kind of interaction of partitioned part with its original part, and what are the properties of interface? If possible, can I define the interaction properties by myself, for example, the surface to surface interactions?
