Since last few years rains are very erratic and poor in distribution. Many a times delayed monsoon and even long dry spells make it difficult to get production in the rain fed areas of Thar desert. Your valuable suggestions to make a viable strategy are awaited. Thanks
of course this type of problems affected several geolocations in the earth plant although it differs from country to country but their outcomes ad end result are same.I used the ecogeographic theory, analysis and application to sudy this phenomana and suggest some solutions through several published papers.the important thing is that since this is amulti factors multi dimention problems ,one singel soultion is impossibole thus combination of database through geoinformatis could be valiable.

Satellite data, ground surveying data, metrological data (Rain, temperature, wind etc), synergist data(soil, vegetation, farming system, land cover,landuse).
Parameters data (problem variables) collected using satellite images through remote sensing techniques and validated with ground truth information collected and integrated from different sources using GIS techniques. The remote sensing data relied up on interpreted data extracted from the satellite images (earth observation satellite) which validated by other available information about these variables.
Have we truly developed any strategic plan to combat this problem? Too many uncertainties. Would be prudent to continue agriculture in this hostile environment? Very difficult to offer any tangible solution.
Is it possible to go for water reservoir to be used during lean period? Deep-tube wells, probably, may not work. You may conduct research on this with the support of the advanced countries such as Germany, Japan, Israel etc. Is it possible to catch rain by any methods possible? That is, however more applicable in urban areas. Is it possible to go for deep and wide plantation?
Respected Dr DK Pal Sahab, Yes at present no well defined strategy available is known tome for such an complex situation with so many uncertainties. But we have to have prepare a plan and test it in harsh conditions for better production and development. We need suggestions for initiating it Sir. Regards.
Dear Dr. Mohd Aminul Karim; In desert areas mostly soils are sandy and whatever little rainfall is there is being collected in depressions and also being utilized for drinking purposes for humans and even for animals. But due to very less amount of rains these waters are not sufficient for agriculture production purpose. Thanks
