I am seeking advice from everyone on examples of systems used for establishing the priority of the vast amount of tasks that we are requested to take care of as young PIs. We are constantly told we need to prioritize, but nobody provides advice on how to actually do it (for example: based on what parameters?).

This would be for my own growth as well as for providing valuable feedback to my postdocs to whom I want to give the most useful tools for a successful career.

If there is anyone willing to share their experience on how to set priorities in scientific and laboratory work, it would be really appreciated.
