I am studying density-dependent effects on some life history parameters of a mangrove crab. I found that the size at sexual maturity was delayed at higher density. According to life history theory, age at maturity is expected to be delayed when the mortality rates among juveniles is higher than adult mortality. Unfortunately, I was unable to measure the mortality rates in the population.
