I would used covered landfill and composting plant data instead and deduct the open surface data. Also, you can use earlier studies, identify your indicators and calculate the emission. The ultimate indicators are organic content, temperature, moisture content, and oxygen content.

The future of waste management (in the EU you cannot landfill more than 5% organic matter content material) is composting, and old landfills must be covered, methane must be burnt (potentially used for power production).
