Hello friends and professors,
I have heard from my friend that medical or cell imaging required NIR wave excitation not the visible, since UV have mutation effect.
In this aspect, I would like to know what kind of QDs are NIR excitable? As I know CdSe cannot, maybe CdTe?
Please add some Reference or URL links.. Thanks in Advance^^
Large CdTe quantum dots, PbS or PbSe quantum dots. But no one wants these materials inside their bodies. Some type-II configuration of InAs quantum dots (InAs with ZnSe shell for e.g.)

Perhaps look at upconversion nanoparticles. They can be excited with NIR light but emit in the visible region. Some examples include lanthanide-doped Na-Y-F nanoparticles.
