I am working on a project relating to latarcin (isolated from Lachesana tarabaevi):spider venom. I would like to know the following:

1.  Is Latarcin 2a an intracellular or extra cellular protein?

From what I've read, I think usually depends on the host strain; so in this case, with respect to E Coli, was it an extracellular protein?

2. This peptide is said to act via a carpet mechanism, to disrupt the organization of the phospholipid layer of the microbes. However, I could not find any information on which receptor/molecule it targets to cause this change. Could someone provide me with some insights into this?

Thank you in advance
