Telemedicine is all medical practice done at a distance. Technological evolution has provided new directions for health care.
So, what factors should be taken into account when adopting telemedicine? Should we use in all medical procedures, such as: consultations, surgical procedures, etc.?
In my opinion: There are several factors involved:
1. Technology acceptance and tech use capabilities (Technology skills and utilization and feasibility of providing online services)
2. Devices/Data allowance/streaming capacity in resource full/limited settings
3. Commitment on behalf of medical providers around the clock (tele-medicine has no time/logistic barriers)
4. Sharpness of image captured and displayed sufficient and conclusive (Camera clarity and interpretation)
5. Adherence to and Interruptions in live video sessions (Internet glitches per video sessions)
Telemedicine, the ease at which those in the rural/remote areas access quality healthcare despite the distance, makes it wholesome.
