I am in fact interested in peoples experiences with paranormal and unexplained phenomena as a scientist. I am interested in what types of people experience such phenomena on a frequent basis such as people with a fantasy prone personality, schizotypy, and/or high in the personality trait known as absorption. I use a variety of experience inventories to look for correlations with trait measures like fantasy proneness, schizotypy, absorption, and empathy. The second thing I look for is potential psychophysiological correlates of reports of anomalous experiences such as channeling, hearing the voices of gods/aliens, and mystical experiences. Often this experiences seem to be attended with psychophysiological correlates that suggest dissociation, hypnotic-like states, etc. I'm also interested in how these people experience the phenomena to get some idea of what their experiences are like from their point of view. I use Clark Moustakas Heurisitc approach to interview them and to get ideas for future research.

Sometimes these can be caused by mental illness or the time when we are half asleep. So-called alien abductions often seem to happen during that time. As to aliens on Earth; there is no solid evidence, same with paranormal activity. James Randi offered a million dollars for many years to anyone who could show in carefully controlled lab conditions any proof of paranormal ability. His findings are clear.

I talk with people who have fantastic views on the very distant past, on magic etc, but I find simply a reluctance to study and confirm evidence. I find nothing else. It does nevertheless seem slightly similar to those who believe holy books are full of historical fact. I hope there is something else out there as I'm aware of limitations in my own approach but it seems to me modern science provides possible alternative realities in quantum physics.

The world is full of wonders ,and at times, we cannot quite absorb and understand the unprecedented and unexpected. Paranormal cases like UFO, flying saucers, telepathy, the Bermuda triangle among many are often narrated and referred to. I personally believe that we should accept such cases if and only if they have tangible evidential bases.

I used to study crop circles in the province of Manitoba, Canada. but we stopped because those phenomena suddenly stopped happening. They flourished for many years probably 20 or so and we had a team across the country studying them. Our coordinator visited the "hot spots" in southern Saskatchewan province once and he was "welcomed" by new crop circles while he was there!

I encountered two such crop circle systems that were amazing, "out of this world" basically. When one walked over flattened crop there were no insects, while just outside there were millions of insects! I measured the dimensions, etc of the flattened circles and their areas were in ratios of the musical notes! Therefore, I created a music out of this and it was very unusual music.

Unfortunately, the people in general did not believe in the phenomenon, they called the investigators weird people. In my university the support staff were enthusiastic about the phenomenon, but the professors were making dirty jokes instead. That is why the phenomenon stopped happening. People do not deserve it. Let them stay in the dark. Of course, the phenomenon is unique and needs to be studied in universities and I know lots of research is being done.

The scientific method can 'only' deal with regular events, i.e. with repeating events (e.g. cancer, economic crises, human illusions). In science, there is no place for paranormal events, even if they seem to happen. Any singular event (e.g. resurrection of xy) is not accessible by the scientific method. Everybody, who is pursuing this road, has left the professional territory of science.

This implies that with science you do not Always get access to important phenomena in this world?

The pursuit of secular scientific studies is egoistic, e.g. a pursuit of personal intellectual pleasure and/or economic profit. According to advanced rabbinics, in the messianic era the study of science will be of a higher level, i.e. non-egotistic, integration of spirituality and science. Currently, the academic assembly line is running in the mentioned manner.

Just from an evolutionary point of view, why should millions and millions of years of natural selection result in unreliable human observation skills biased by imagination and hallucination during daily life?

Every phenomenon in nature is unique in physical expression in at least one scale of analysis, so what is called 'replicated/repeated' is not more that lumping together phenomena that are in essence different?

Example:

Scientists count the number of cows in a field, but then how to scientifically define a cow given that cows differ in shape/size/morphology, etc....

There is nothing in the epistemology of science which forbids people from investigating the nature of single events. Qualitative interviews, personality inventories, and psychophysiological investigations of people who claim these one time events (not just paranormal things, also sexual assualt trauma survivors, people who had awareness during anesthesia, people's remembrance of falling in love, people who witnessed 9/11, etc.) are an accepted method of inquiry. Are these studies weighted less than using a RCT design of phenomena that can can be replicated? Yes and rightly so! But to say that science can't study rare phenomena is to claim an epistemology for science which is itself not scientific and reeks of the politics of science. There are thousands of studies of people who experienced single events wether they are paranormal phenomena or not.

Presently just observe both phenomena.

I think the intention behind studying paranormal phenomena should not be limited to proving whether they are true or fake. They must be studied whether true or not with the intention of appreciating better ourselves, other entities, the world we live in, and our relationships with one another. It must be for the betterment of every created being, seen or unseen. Whether they are true or not, they do affect people in certain ways. The physics of today which is still grossly deterministic can not adequately grasp the truth about the paranormal things. Paranormal phenomena have good reasons to be treated as interesting research topics.

Trying to explain the previously inexplicable is the fastest way to knowledge. Denying the existence of the unknown is the quickest way to destroy the process of knowledge. If the goal is to make money and not to know the truth, then the result will be money and not truth.

The concepts of anomalous or paranormal phenomena are an outcome of our theories of human information processing.If human information processing is constrained by classical physics,then by definition risk factors for Psi verbal reports(Wickramasekera 1986,1989,1991) are constrained by the basic laws of classical physics like the the speed of light etc.

However ,in our lifetime modern electronic technology that we all depend on in our every day life, like transistors,lasers,GPS, and your computer-telephone are based on an expanded and deeper quantum model of how nature operates on a sub atomic scale.Principles like "superposition"and "entanglement" confound our ape brain ,which requires that causes ALWAYS have effects and that a subatomic particle cannot be in multiple locations,till it is measured.Yet the quantum principles of entanglement and superposition are the basis of the 53 qubit prototype quantum computer built by Google(Nature,10/23 2019) and others eg IBM,Microsoft.To date they have only amplified the speed of information processing, reduced presumably from 10,000 years( IBM's classical super computer ) to 3 minutes ( Sycamore Googles quantum computer).This has however been recently disputed and reduced to a few hours by IBM computer scientists.

I , personally , have a very skeptical viewpoint in this regard, the reason being these so called observed incidents, had either proven to be hoax, distortion of facts, or a simpler, realistic explanation does exist that account for the observed event, having said that, i really am very enthusiastic about research in these areas and new findings, whatever they are,that come out ocassionally, i strongly do believe that even if one of such anomalous observations can be proven to be true, it would bring a whole lot of new insight into our mother nature's intricate ways of functioning.
