I electrospinned PA66 with acid formic as a solvent, but I could not reach to uniform fiber diameter. I've changed a voltage, a feeding rate and a distance many times.
Do you know about the response surface method? How can I use it for obtaining uniform diameter?
Dear Fereshteh. Are you getting beading (BOS or beads on a string) or large changes in diameter? You can try increasing the viscosity (by say increasing concentration), add electrolyte, or change solvent to decrease surface tension. Hope this helps. Best regards. Deon
hi, no i am not getting any beads i just see large changes in diameter! what is your opinion about using acid formic and chloroform (75:25) as solvent?

You mention that you have changed voltage, distance and flow rate, but what concentration are you using? This is probably the first and easiest parameter to change, as suggested by Zdenko. As the molecular mass is quite low, I would suggest increasing the concentration. The addition of chloroform should help reduce surface tension and volatility.
i am using the concentration of 15 weight/weight percent and i consider it constant. so you suggest that i should increase it.

I don't know what the viscosity of the current solution is, but would try a little higher concentration if you can, and also add some chloroform as co-solvent. Good luck. Deon
