It is perhaps a manifestation of the over-emphasis on political correctness. Political correctness as it pertains to treating people of different races, ethnicities, genders and other classifications equally and with respect can be a good guiding priciple so that one does not hurt the feelings of others. True, the First Amendment of the US Bill of Rights provides all kinds of freedoms to citizens, so long as they are not abused at the expense of someone else. At the same time, this also gives the opportunity for someone else to sue one for any reason if they don't like hearing what one is saying whether frivilous or not. Somewhere along the line the word "respect" has been replaced by the term political correctness bringing with it unwanted and unanticipated consequences.
It is rational rather than absolute. Sometimes the right thing for you is the wrong thing for someone else! Cultural differences and personal variations play a vital role in defining wrong and right.
The wrong is contrary to what must be, it is defined as the opposite, or against we say: wrong against right, that is, to do rights or say what does not fit him or say or do.
