For beginner researcher, authors are confused to submit a paper on conference or journal publication in the majority times. I would like to give insight opinions from it.
It depends on quality and scope of the research paper.
Most conference proceedings do not get citations like journals. With that being said, one can easily turn a conference proceeding into an article.
The value of a publication also depends on the field of study. Conference papers are highly valued and can have a significant impact (especially in the case of prestigious conferences). They have also faster publication as the review process is typically less extensive compared to manuscripts submitted within a journal. Therefore, the choice between a conference paper and a journal publication depends on your specific goals. If you need rapid dissemination and visibility for your research at this point in your career, a conference paper is a good option. On the other hand, if you need to build up some metrics, like IF, better go for a journal publication.
depends on the intent with the audience. a conference paper can help to generate conversation about your research and pose more questions whereas a journal article can help to share results found.
