What is the X value in the formula for degree of hydrolysis using the OPA method?

Serine-NH2 = ODsample - ODblank/ODstandard - ODblank* 0.9516 meqv/L *0.1 * 100/ X * P

I am using the Nielsen method to determine the degree of hydrolysis in cheese sample. The question here is: X is refer the weight (g) of sample before hydrolysis or the amount of sample diluted for abs?
