What have been the effective policies of India to promote Technology Transfer in Renewable Energy ?
What has been observed that, through the mechanism of the Kyoto protocol? It was though the CDM would be the solution to promote renewable energy and to check the growth of carbon emissions. India has been doing many things in regard to this, but is the root issue being effectively solved? The policies defined in National Action Plan on Climate Change seems more an abstract than a reality. What are the concrete policies that India has laid out to promote renewable energy and at a same time to stop the rising emissions?

the CDM is basically dead as a large-scle financing system to reduce GHG emissions in developing countries. TThis is because of problems in getting the second phase of the kytoto protocol really going, as well as due to a very low demand of carbon credits within the EU Emissions trading system--the main buyer of CDM credits in the past. The new mechnism --still emreging-- is called NAMA: NAtinally APpropriate Mitigation Actions. Dear Sagar, good day. Since all the attention has been focused on finding ways to keep development running at minimum pollution levels since 1987 and in 2012 and in 2015 in response to the bruntland commission fixing request, not on transitioning to clean economies the attention and ideas keep still being focused on managing the problem with emission debit/credit only without offering emission substitution debit/credit at the same time to keep developing at minimum pollution levels while promoting step by step transition to the clean economy and closing the renewable energy technology gap.....In other words the whole Kyoto and CDM system is focused on staying in the minimum pollution economy for ever knowing that non-renewables will not last for ever and there will be a need to transition to the clean economy any way.....
The CDM is a general mechanism and the NAMAs seems to be an agriculture only based mitigation program....I am currently writing a paper on how to mitigate both ways, emission credits/debits and emission substitution credits/debits and how to link them to the CLEAN MARKET GLOBAL TRANSITION FUND to show that if it is more profitable to companies and consumers to shift to renewable energy then we can use the dirty economy to pay for the transition to the clean economy and still be good for the bottom line....and encourage renewable energy technology productions, implementation, and use....in developed and developing countries alke.
